Rushton Journal of Undergraduate Humanities Research
Call for Papers & Submissions
We want to read your essay! The Rushton Journal of Undergraduate Humanities Research welcomes submissions of scholarly work from WSU undergraduates grounded in the humanities and related fields, such as African American studies, anthropology, art history, communication, English, foreign languages, history, media studies, philosophy, and more. Edited by Wayne State students, the Rushton Journal aims to build intellectual community and to enhance the undergraduate experience at Wayne State. Submissions should meet the following requirements:
- An original research paper of 2,000-6,000 words, including references and bibliography, written for an undergraduate course taken at Wayne State during any of the following semesters: Sp/Su 25, Fall 25, Winter 26.
- An abstract of 150 words that describes the paper’s argument and topic.
- Attached as a .docx or .doc file
- DEADLINE: May 5, 2026 (last day of final exams)
