Author Biography
Lewis Seifert is a professor of French and Francophone Studies at Brown University. His scholarship focuses on early modern French literature as well as folktales and fairy tales in the Francophone world through the lenses of sexuality and gender studies and ecocriticism. Among his current projects are a study of affective responses to vegetal life in early modern literature and another on tricksters as mediators between the human and the nonhuman in Francophone wonder tales.
