Abstract
This dissertation intends to prove that some states have a higher tendency to fail due to structural characteristics in forming the state. The research will separate between the levels of state weakness. The failed states are tested to prove if some of the states are suffering from structures that might enhance the states tendency to fail. The factors tested in that model were gathered from previous studies that suggested that state failure is related to those variables. The dissertation used quantitative and qualitative methods to test for the relationship between state failure and the variables tested including four selected case studies.
