Abstract
Inspired by the work of Kathleen Westcott and Eva Garroutte, this article explores taking a story-centered perspective, relating to stories as living beings. Like other living beings, in particular like those described by Arianna Dagnino as “transcultural,” stories travel across borders and make themselves at home in different cultures. They also grow, change—and reproduce. This article includes examples of stories that have appeared in different settings and convey different meanings.
