Abstract
Previous work suggests that a high plexus visualization score (PVS) of the nailfold may he a genetic trait found more frequently in patients with certain diseases than in healthy control subjects. In vivo capillary examinations of nailfold skin were performed on 268 army recruits to estimate the prevalence of this trait in the general population. The results showed high PVS in 5.6% of subjects in this sample of young men.
