Abstract
The associations of marriage and fertility frequencies with morphometric characters were analyzed in two modern population samples. Fitness differentials favoring men of intermediate height were found. In a population sample containing information for both men and women, relations between morphometric variables and fertility were detected only in men. The effect of ethnic and socioeconomic heterogeneity upon population statistics is discussed.
