Abstract
Data on plasma cholesterol level are analyzed for 338 subjects (including relatives) at three British Columbia Indian Reserves for the genotypes at the Rhesus locus C. Results strongly suggest a linear decrease in level with latitude and a less pronounced linear decrease with the number of C alleles. The regression of plasma cholesterol on latitude and the number of C alleles present in the genotype is 365.74-2.96 (latitude)-12.23 (no. of C alleles).
