Abstract
The timing of maximum increments in long bones, stature, some cranial base lengths and bi-cristal diameter has been analyzed. Variations in the sequence of these maximum increments have been documented; similar variations occur for menarche and onset of ossification of the ulnar sesamoid in relation to these maximum increments. Methodological aspects of serial data collection that can influence the recorded data and possible biological factors that could be responsible for the variations observed are discussed.
