Abstract
Demographic data concerning reproduction and migration in a set of 12 villages of Eastern Senegal belonging to two tribes are used to estimate some genetic parameters. Deterministic simulations of the evolution of kinship using the present migration matrices, effective size vectors and systematic pressures are performed. The results show great differences in the genetic structures which can be expected in the two tribes. Such differences could hardly come to light from the simple reading of the data.
