A world-class educational institution is built on the foundation of a world-class faculty, and that is certainly true of the Wayne State University College of Nursing. The College’s 58 full-time and nine part-time faculty members include internationally renowned authorities on such issues as smoking cessation, pain management, wound treatment, immigrant health and palliative care.

The College of Nursing faculty prides itself on the breadth and quality of its research. The College’s geographic location in the heart of a major metropolitan city with distinct ethnic enclaves (including the largest Arab community outside the Middle East) allows our faculty to concentrate its research studies on unique, vulnerable populations. The Center for Health Research, located within the College and the first institute of its kind in America, serves as an incubator for the development of research studies and funding grants, and retains three full-time faculty as research methodologists to help facilitate the process.
