Abstract
Narrating is a fundamental cultural practice acquired in the process of enculturation. Telling stories and listening to, reading, recognizing, and witnessing stories is a communicative essential that shapes and accompanies human connection in every corner of the world. Narrative Culture, edited by Ulrich Marzolph and Regina Bendix, is envisioned as a platform for presenting new and significant scholarship on this extraordinary human skill, past and present. This introduction will situate Narrative Culture and delineate the kinds of opportunities inherent to this new journal.
